Step 1: The Conversation (Understanding Your Vision)

The journey of this custom painting began with a conversation where I learned about the vision. We’ve discussed essential details such as the art style, ideal size, composition, and mood to ensure the artwork perfectly complements the space.

“Three Women by the Ocean,” started with a simple yet inspiring request: “modern girls in an impressionist style, like Monet or Renoir.” From this, I envisioned a 60x60-inch acrylic painting depicting three women in flowing white dresses standing by railings, gazing at the ocean and summer sky.

To bring this vision to life, I blended research with creativity—studying the techniques of Monet and Renoir and referencing photos to refine poses and composition. The result was a painting that captures the warmth of summer and the timeless beauty of impressionist-inspired art.

Step 2: Developing the Composition

After understanding the vision, I moved on to the pencil sketch phase to develop the composition. This step is essential in planning the layout, ensuring every element—whether it’s figures, landscapes, or abstract details—creates a balanced and visually appealing original painting.

For the commissioned piece “Three Women by the Ocean,” I sketched the women’s poses, the flow of their dresses, sunlight and shadows, and the perspective of the ocean and railings. These initial sketches lay the groundwork for a custom artwork that reflects the unique vision, blending creativity with precision.

Whether a commissioned painting is inspired by nature, made from photography or is imagined by an artist, the sketching stage is where your ideas begin to transform into a timeless work of art.

Step 3: Bringing the Vision to Life with Acrylic on Canvas

With the composition finalized, the painting transitions to canvas, where I use acrylic paint to bring your vision to life. This stage focuses on capturing light, texture, and emotion through impressionist-inspired techniques, creating a dynamic and immersive work of art.

For the commission “Three Women by the Ocean,” I emphasized the vibrant summer atmosphere. Using expressive brushstrokes, I layered rich blues for the sky and ocean, blending warm and cool tones to reflect sunlight. The women’s flowing white dresses were painted with delicate strokes, adding texture and a sense of movement in the summer breeze.

Incorporating elements of contemporary impressionism, I ensured the painting conveyed a feeling of warmth and serenity. From the shimmering light on the water to the soft textures of fabric, each brushstroke captures the essence of that timeless summer day. This is where a custom acrylic painting becomes a personal and emotive piece of art, ready to transform your space.

Step 4: Final Touches and Delivery

The final stages of a commissioned painting are all about refinement and preparation. This is where I carefully add intricate details—enhancing light, refining textures, and ensuring every brushstroke brings the artwork’s story to life. This process transforms the painting into a personalized masterpiece of original canvas art.

For “Three Women by the Ocean,” I focused on capturing the shimmering sunlight on the water, the flowing textures of the dresses, and the vibrant hues of the summer sky. After completing these finishing touches, I applied a protective varnish to enhance the colors and preserve the large wall art for years to come. The 60x60-inch painting was carefully removed from its canvas frame, rolled, and packed in a sturdy tube to ensure it arrived safely in Quebec.

Every piece of original canvas art is handled with the utmost care, whether it’s large wall art shipped across the country or a locally delivered treasure. From start to finish, my goal is to exceed your expectations, creating a timeless, one-of-a-kind painting that perfectly reflects your vision and transforms your space.
